The Black Flight out today

Hello friends,
The Black Flight is out today. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who preordered the LP! It’s reassuring to have your faith and support in what I do. So, THANK YOU!
I also want to let you know that there are now CDs of The Black Flight available as well as a new T-shirt design and sticker in the store.
LPs and any other orders will ship in first week of September.
I’ll be on tour opening for Son Volt in August and more shows will soon be announced.

The Black Flight ::: new album announcement

Hello beautiful friends,

I have a new album coming out on August 11, 2023.  The album is called The Black Flight. It is a collection of songs about my great uncle, Leslie Hunter Parker,  who was a fighter pilot in WWI and was shot down and killed during a dogfight in Belgium in 1917.

The songs are all told from different perspectives (his, his girlfriend, parents, comrades, me).  The album is solo, just me and acoustic guitar, recorded live in a single day in New Orleans, LA.  This is a document, a raw, warts and all album.  The songs are all interwoven.  Some tell the same stories from different perspectives.  Thoughts and impressions appear in different songs.  Musical movements within songs are meant to convey place and situation and feeling.

The songs are ones of daring, braggadocio, fear, longing, lust, memory, action, insouciance, terror, heartbreak, inspiration, and legacy.

The album features a beautiful, if haunting, painting by WWI veteran and artist, Claggett Wilson on the cover as well as an essay about my great uncle on the back of the LP.

We are doing a very limited run of 250 LPs. You can pre-order the LP here at the website or via Bandcamp.  Eta on the records is early August.

Bandcamp Friday: 20% of all sales will go to Ukraine relief org

Today is Bandcamp Friday, wherein BC waves their fees.  I will be donating 20% of all Bandcamp sales through this weekend (March 4-6) to the Ukrainian charity organization Razom.  So, if you’re interested in an LP, CD or t-shirt drop by and take a look here.

Razom is a trusted Ukrainian-American 501-C that raises money to send medical, tactical, and other needed goods directly to Ukrainian soldiers. It also partners American doctors to train Ukrainian doctors.
